Supplier Export Readiness

Identifying Which Liberian Producers Are Ready for EU Market Access

Producer Screening

Zlokker supports international organisations, prime contractors and consultancy firms in screening Liberian food and agri-food producers.

The purpose is simple: determine which companies are ready to move forward, which need further improvement and which are not yet suitable for an EU market access programme.

Producer Screening helps projects focus time, budget and technical support on businesses with realistic development and market potential.

What We Assess

Depending on the project, Zlokker may assess:

  • Company registration and management
  • Products and production capacity
  • Production facilities and equipment
  • Raw materials and suppliers
  • Hygiene and food safety
  • HACCP readiness
  • Traceability
  • Product specifications
  • Packaging and storage
  • Laboratory results
  • Certifications
  • Current customers
  • Export experience
  • Management commitment

How the Screening Works

1. Define the Criteria

Zlokker and the client agree on the requirements relevant to the project, such as product category, minimum volume, legal registration, production capacity and willingness to improve.

2. Collect Company Information

The producer provides basic business, product, production and market information.

3. Review Documentation

Available registrations, permits, product records, traceability information, food safety procedures, certificates and other relevant documents are reviewed.

4. Conduct a Site Visit

Where required, Zlokker can visit the production or processing site in Liberia to verify facilities, production activities, hygiene, storage, equipment and other operational information.

5. Assess Management & Capacity

We assess whether management is willing to improve and whether the company can realistically supply the required volume.

6. Review Food Safety & Traceability

Zlokker reviews the producer’s current food safety practices, HACCP readiness and ability to trace products through the supply chain.

7. Compare with Buyer Requirements

The producer’s current situation is compared with relevant European buyer requirements.

This helps identify what is already in place and what still needs improvement.

The Result

At the end of the screening, the client receives a clear overview of:

  • Producers ready to move forward
  • Producers requiring further improvement
  • Key gaps and risks
  • Required next steps
  • Companies with realistic EU market potential

Why Producer Screening Matters

Not every producer needs the same type of support.

Producer Screening helps projects identify where support can have the greatest impact and prevents resources from being used where the basic conditions for market access are not yet in place.
